BIG NEWS! We are adopting!
Friday, March 13th, 2020, is a date that has left an imprint on our hearts. During our routine 20-week ultrasound appointment, our unborn son Oliver was diagnosed with anencephaly (a rare neural tube defect with a life expectancy of only hours after birth). Despite the devastating news and the pain we knew was ahead, we decided to carry Oliver to term. We believe that the Lord is the author and creator of all life, and Oliver’s life was precious just the way it was. Oliver was born on July 13th, 2020, exactly 18 weeks after we first learned of his diagnosis. He passed away during labor, but not without dancing in my womb, celebrating his entrance into heaven.
We believe all life is created with a purpose and have always wanted a large family. Through our experience with Oliver, we feel called to adopt. We want to support and love a mom and dad who made the incredibly hard decision to place their child up for adoption.
We have been told to have about $50,000 available in 5 months. In addition to fundraising & saving, we have kept every penny earned from earring sales. (Except the 10% we donated to Be Not Afraid for the first 5 months of sales.) If you have purchased a pair of Olea & Clay earrings, you have helped us pay for initial agency fees.
We know full well the Lord has known before time began what our story will be & what children will be loved in our home. We look forward to celebrating with you when we bring home our sweet child.
"Always remember, there was nothing worth sharing
Like the love that let us share our name."
