Harper Rae was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC for short) & has required interventional medical attention, surgeries & extensive occupational & physical therapies since birth. In addition, travel & housing expenses to see her specialist are also present. Harper's medical plan is necessary for her chances not only to walk one day but to become independent in her everyday activities. Her parents work hard to provide insurance and every financial opportunity for her success but your support goes a long way to help with the tremendous expenses not covered by insurance & the expenses associated with lodging to see her specialist 10 plus hours from their home.

Latest Update

While being in West Palm Beach for Harper's knee and hip surgeries we got a call that her great grandmother had fallen ill and was in the hospital back at home. Two days ago on the 20th the same day we got news that Harper would need now a 3rd surgery but this time on her spine for a tethered cord, we got the call that her sweet Meme had passed away. We got the okay to skip therpaies for a couple of days to head back to Alabama on Thursday to lay our sweet Meme to rest & will return to West Palm Beach on Sunday to prepare for Harper's spinal surgery scheduled for Tuesday February 28th. She will continue her therapies like she has in between her other surgeries. This tough little cookie gets no time off but we know her Meme is cheering her on from up above. Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers at this tough time & for all your love & support.

This February has been a tough month. We headed back to West Palm Beach for 2 major surgeries. On the 1st we had her left knee and hip surgery. The 15th was her right knee and hip surgery. The surgery itself went well. Harper did as well as one could expect a 2 year old to do. The 2nd surgery was tough to prepare for because she knew where she was headed. She got her happy juice though and we all made it through sending her off with her nurses to see Dr. Feldman in the operating room.

Intensive therapy at Climb Intensive Therapy then month of September in Tennessee has been tough but such a blessing. With lots of hard work Harper learned to scoot on her booty to get from one place to another. That's huge and why we work through the tears. She has finally gained that little bit of independence and we owe such a huge thank you to her therapists there and the determination & patience they have doing their job!

June of 2022 Harper had her elbow release surgery which was her first bog surgery. She did so well and the results were just what we had hoped for. She now has enough flexibility to bend that elbow with some help. She was such a big girl!

It's been a while since I've been able to post an update here on plumfund but I want everyone to know we thank God for each and every one of you. Life has been busy with traveling back and forth to West Palm Beach and 5 to 7 doctor's appointments a week. This picture was from another cast cutting session. She knows the drill...headphones go on (ocean sounds or baby mozart ☺️) and another set of casts come off. The good thing after cast cutting is she gets a warm full bath (which only happens after casts cutting day) Then we set another pair of casts. We are working on knees right now. We have high hopes and are believing in God's will for Harper's progress 💗

Harper had her tendonomy on Thursday of this past week after 3 additional therapy sessions that were very hard for her to handle. Her procedure went well and her therapist and doctor said they were very pleased with her results. We get to come back home to Alabama for 2 weeks and we couldn't be happier about getting that break and spending some much needed time with family. She has her 6th set of cast on and we will continue therapy at home to keep workimg on range of motion. She is a little grumpy from those incisions under those casts so we are trying to keep her distracted, comfortable and surrounded with smiles, conversation and love. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts as we continue to work through this and juggle all that comes with it.

We don't know which is cuter, her little casts on her legs or her new splints for her hands and wrists. Occupational therapy has been hard to watch this week but we are so thankful Harper is getting such amazing care! She thanks all her Plumfund family 💗

We got our first set of casts today. She did amazing. They stretched the tendons on her little feet to position her feet to be casted. She will wear these casts until Tuesday then will be recasted after more therapy then. Next week she will also begin occupational therapy to work on postioning and splinting her hands. She is such a trooper and her followers, supporters and prayer warriors are angels! Thank you all!
